By accessing or using PaperChat.ai (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by PaperChat (“we”, “us”, “our”).
PaperChat.ai provides document transformation and AI-powered document chat services. Users can upload PDF documents to be reformatted using professional templates, and engage in AI-driven conversations about document content with citation support.
Certain features are available without an account. To access the full set of features, you must register with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
You agree not to: (a) upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on intellectual property rights; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure; (c) use the Service to distribute malware or malicious content; (d) circumvent usage limits or access controls; (e) resell or redistribute the Service without prior written permission.
You retain ownership of all documents you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content. Transformed documents are derived works that you own. Our templates, designs, and software remain our intellectual property.
Free accounts are subject to usage limits as described on our pricing page. Premium subscriptions are billed monthly at the rate displayed at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days advance notice.
Documents uploaded for transformation are processed by AI models. Content uploaded for chat is chunked, embedded, and stored for retrieval during conversations. We process your data solely to provide the Service. Refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. AI-generated content and chat responses may contain inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI outputs. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content before use.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaperChat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days unless we are legally required to retain it.
We may update these terms from time to time. Registered users will be notified of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
